Supporting Your Library

How to get involved!

Volunteering

The Library staff welcomes opportunities to involve volunteers in preparing resources and providing services to our users.

If you can : move books, shelve things, add labels, search for the titles of donated items in the Library's catalog, read to our children, ...

Both the staff and your fellow users will appreciate whatever time you can spend here to make resources and services available.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Bowie Public Library are very active and would welcome new members.  They present a Spring Luncheon complete with a speaker and an especially prepared menu.  Among their fund raising activities are twice a year book sales.

A new committee has been formed as part of the Friends group, the Children's Support Committee.   This group provides support to the Children's Librarian and the programs she provides.

A small donation of $ 5.00 is requested for "Friends" membership.

Donating

The many community residents who donate their used books, videos, etc. are very much appreciated.  Many of these donations are added

to the Library's collection, others are offered for sale by the Friends.  Both ways provide important support to the Library.

Other donations accepted include equipment and expertise, such as providing Internet lessons.

Your support will help keep Bowie and the surrounding areas a great community in which to live and work !!  Thank you.
